Lonely Hearts (Demo)

by Parralox

subscriber exclusive

This demo version of Lonely Hearts is exclusive to Bandcamp!
Lonely Hearts was written on Wednesday 16th February, 2011 at 1800 hours. It was never officially released on any album or EP. The song is quite dancey, with an elaborate Middle 8 that's almost another song. I finally decided to make the track available on our Bandcamp Subscription.
It may finally see release in 2018, either as a B-Side on one of our singles, or on the new album Genesis..time will tell!

Lonely Hearts
Written by John von Ahlen

Verse 1
My momma said don't go back twice
I didn't listen then
But that was good advice
I saw your true face yesterday
How soon we forget
Then live to regret

Verse 2
You told me lies, looked into my eyes
What the hell is wrong with you?
Can't you speak/see the truth?
I should have learned this lesson well
And that is why I feel
To my eternal shame

You say that you love me
But I dont think you mean it
I can't let go, I should let go

I won't fall in love again
No I won't fall in love again
You're breaking my lonely heart in two
No I won't fall in love

Since you've been gone, things are alright
There's no regret, l've slowly learned to fight
I was the lonely girl, now I'm the only girl tonight
Verse 1 - 22/02/2010
Find the tree of life
Build a paradise
I can take you there, magic in the air

M8 2 22/02/2011
There is something wrong with you baby
I couldn't understand all the rage inside
Goodbye now
But the years they were so unkind
I think maybe now you lost your mind

If ever there was a new electronic pop band to encapsulate and emulate the legendary stylings of Depeche Mode, The Human League, Erasure, New Order, Pet Shop Boys and the spirit of Madonna in her 80s day-glo era, then Australia’s Parralox are that modern-day reincarnation. ... more
